Pitchers (Chahai)
A chahai, or fairness pitcher, receives the whole infusion from the gaiwan or pot, so every cup is poured at the same strength and the leaf does not over-steep. Ours hold 200–400 ml: heat-resistant glass that shows the colour of the tea (including a 400 ml Samadoyo), fired clay and ceramic.
